The best new movies and shows on Netflix this week

Every weekend brings with it a slew of great Netflix picks
. But you can’t sleep for the rest of the week as several interesting movies and shows are also released from Monday to Thursday. The real problem is… well, keeping track of it all.

Hopefully this article can help. I’ve tracked down all the new movies and shows coming to Netflix this week—as well as the ones leaving. Overall, this expanded view of content will help you decide what to watch. First, we’ll discuss the best movies and shows coming to Netflix from Friday, March 10 to Thursday, March 16. Next, we’ll look at the best content leaving this week. And finally, I’ll list every movie and show coming and going over the next seven days.

The best new movies and shows on Netflix this week

Shadow and Bone (Season 2)

Despite its massive popularity, which included a 12-day streak at #1 on Netflix’s Top 10 charts, Shadow and bone It hasn’t had a second season since it premiered in the spring of 2021. But that all changes on Thursday, when Alina Starkob (played by Jessie Mei Li) returns to battle General Kirigan (Ben Barnes) for a second season. Expect this show to dominate the Top 10.

Kick-Ass 2 (2013)

Kick-Ass was Matthew Vaughn’s first big break in US cinemas. Kingsman franchise just a few years later. And while he didn’t direct the sequel, Kick-Ass 2 carried the same energy. Dave aka Kick-Ass (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Mindy (Chloë Grace Moretz) return to fight crime, along with Col. Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey).

Luther: The Fallen Sun (2023)

Sure, he’s a superstar now. But before Idris Elba became a household name, many people first know him through the hit British TV series Luther. The film continues to follow this self-destructive detective as he is released from prison to catch a cyber psychopath who has eluded him for years.

Pitch Black (2000)

Vin Diesel has become the star of many franchise films, including Fast & Furious and XXX. But before any of them hit the market, he became the face of the Riddick franchise — starting with pitch black. This fantastic sci-fi/horror film centers on a deep space transporter filled with all kinds of characters that crash lands on a mysterious planet full of killer aliens.

Outlast (Season 1)

Perhaps the most notable new series on Netflix this week is an intriguing reality competition series: Survive. The program begins in the extreme wilds of Alaska, where sixteen survivors compete to win a huge cash prize.

Arrested Development (Seasons 1-5)

It may seem crazy to believe, as Netflix has revived the much-loved Arrested Development series after a decade hiatus, but the show that inspired fans is now leaving the streamer. Which means you only have until Wednesday, March 15 to catch up on your favorite episodes—or enjoy the entire series. The first three seasons are still on Hulu. However, there is currently no indication whether the fourth and fifth seasons, produced by Netflix, will be available anywhere else.

The Last Blockbuster (2020)

By far the best selection of documentaries this week for movies leaving Netflix The Last Blockbuster, which follows the manager of the late Blockbuster video rental store. The film also chronicles the rise and fall of the late and once mammoth American franchise. The film will disappear from Netflix on Wednesday, March 15.

Jeff Dunham Comedy Specials

If you’re a fan of Jeff Dunham, the wildly popular stand-up comedian who incorporates puppets into his act, then you better watch his Netflix specials while you still can. Four of his acts will be leaving Netflix on Wednesday, March 15—including Disagree with Myself, Very Special Christmas Special, Controlled Chaos, and Watch out for monsters.
