1. The Bungalow Luggage

Whether you’re backpacking, planning a fishing trip or want to spend time at the lake, foldable and easy-to-carry furniture will definitely be on your top priority list. A range of folding furniture that is relatively luxurious, super lightweight and packs into a travel trolley that you can carry around with you. Bungalow Luggage by designer Eunsol Lee sets the stage for unique camping experiences.

Why is it remarkable?

There is no shortage of folding camping chairs and tables out there. You could even pick a set of tables and chairs off the shelf, but this idea of a portable furniture set has its own advantages. Unlike other folding metal rod outdoor furniture, the one designed for National Geographic is convenient to carry. Simply fold the two chairs and table into their bags and the trio sits evenly in a carry-on suitcase. This ease of portability is also useful when you want to place the furniture in the trunk of the car.

What we like

  • Packed in a sturdy travel trolley case
  • Metal spokes aligned as hollow table legs become the base for a wooden surface board

What we don’t like

  • It doesn’t look very comfortable to sit for long hours

2. Stool stack and table combo

A stool and table collection that recently caught my eye is the Nardi’s Stack Stool and Table Combo. Designed by Raffaello Galiotto, Italian furniture brand Nardi has launched a stool and table collection that features a linear design complemented by strips of wood.

Why is it remarkable?

Made from 100 percent recyclable regenerated polypropylene, the furniture collection is designed to resemble traditional wood furniture. Light and sturdy, both the stool and the table can be easily lifted, handled and moved from one location to another. And the fact that it has the look of wooden furniture only adds to its list of advantages!

What we like

  • It looks like it’s made of wood
  • They take up minimal space once you set them aside and store them

What we don’t like

  • The aesthetic of the collection is quite dull and boring

3. The Böste Lounge armchair

Designed by Stefan Borselius for the Swedish furniture company Skargaarden, the Böste lounger is a minimalist and robust lounger designed to withstand the weather.

Why is it remarkable?

The lounger takes its name from the designer’s hometown in Southern Sweden. It is inspired by the classic Westport chair and is actually a Scandinavian version of it. The shape of the chair is quite unique, with the back and seat meeting at an interesting angle, which invites and welcomes users to sit in a gently reclining position that is perfect for relaxing and socializing with family and friends.

What we like

  • It has a separate footrest that allows users to recline fully and comfortably
  • Made using sustainable teak

What we don’t like

  • Aesthetically quite similar to other outdoor chairs on the market

4. Plinth

Italian design studio Pastina created Plint, a collection of urban furniture for Punto Design. Pastina describes Plint as “more than just a street bench” and I wholeheartedly agree. The colorful and quirky pieces in this collection are a far cry from the dreary brown benches we often see scattered around cities.

Why is it remarkable?

Plint plays with different materials, geometry and visual perceptions, highlighting the interesting contrasts between them. This makes Plint anything but boring!

What we like

  • The base is modular, so it allows each piece to be used individually or combined with other pieces to create compositions of various lengths

What we don’t like

  • Not ideal for small yards/outdoors

5. Build.Work.Spaces

This particular micro office is quite versatile! It can be placed in your home, corporate office or even in a public place. You can place multiple Make.Work.Spaces in your office, create spaces for employees to get some privacy away from the chaos of the office, or for you to work in peace in your backyard.

Why is it remarkable?

When it comes to working from home – Make.Work.Space acts as the perfect home office! In addition to the home office, it could also be used as a quiet space to relax and unwind. Sometimes we need privacy in our homes, especially if we live with family, friends or roommates. It’s an economical and efficient way to maximize your living space!

What we like

  • It is available in three different modules to meet the different needs of different people

What we don’t like

  • Choosing to use the micro office in public spaces can be difficult to implement

6. Gravity

This new range of outdoor furniture is called Gravitas and the look and design is basically ‘scraped’.

Why is it remarkable?

It seems sturdy enough to survive strong winds, rain and snow, although the steel material can make it a bit too warm for when the sun is well and truly out in summer. The galvanized grill design for this all-weather furniture is perfect for a garden, patio, or outdoor backyard seating area for an industrial-looking or themed cafe or restaurant.

What we like

  • Solid and unmistakable body
  • Water resistant

What we don’t like

  • Not the most aesthetically pleasing design

7. log

Called Stump, the lighting design is a powerful light designed to light up and illuminate the outdoor areas of the island of Møn, although it would look great in your backyard too!

Why is it remarkable?

The light was specially designed to combat and reduce light pollution. Shaped like a pillar, the lighting design features an oxidized cast iron body and a transparent cap.

What we like

  • It includes a warm and low-energy lamp that emits a soft and glowing light
  • Its sturdy structure can be used as a stool for people to rest on

What we don’t like

  • Not the best choice if you want a lighting design that provides more light

8. The Tripster

Called the Tripster, this unique portable chair from Trippy Outdoor is a handy little piece that you can store in your garage or the back of your car and pop out whenever you need it!

Why is it remarkable?

I had to stop calling the Tripster a folding chair because honestly, it doesn’t really fold. Built with a unique yet incredibly simple assembly mechanism, the Tripster slips in and out efficiently, going between what is essentially a comfortable high-back outdoor chair and two easily stored pieces of wood.

What we like

  • It makes for a seating device that travels extremely well and is a breeze to set up
  • Lightweight form

What we don’t like

  • It doesn’t seem very sturdy, especially for slippery sand surface

9. Air

Meet Aeri, an inflatable canopy that you can carry anywhere in a backpack and inflate in 3 minutes with the push of a single button. Aeri helps you effortlessly set up a canopy or outdoor shelter in an instant. Designed for recreational outdoor use, the Aeri can be easily transported to the beach, campsites, the park or even your backyard. It uses a four-pillar arch design that provides the perfect shelter against sun, wind and rain, and its fully inflatable design is powered by a rechargeable air pump that can be operated independently by one person with zero assistance.

Why is it remarkable?

The patent-pending inflatable shelter fits into a medium-sized backpack and when unfolded, can comfortably provide a 10ft x 10ft shelter for an entire family or a group of 5-6 people. The UV-blocking fabric works great against the sun, creating a shady shelter against harsh sunlight, and the fabric is even waterproof, making the Aeri ideal for rainy weather too. Although Aeri lacks metal supports like traditional tents or canopies, it makes up for it with its clever arched architecture. Arched poles create a rigid support structure that stays stable even in windy conditions, and if things get too far, Aeri’s built-in tie-down system lets you hook it to the ground.

What we like

  • Extremely light
  • Easily portable

What we don’t like

  • Not suitable for extreme weather conditions

10 Convivium Mobile Bar

This modular outdoor kitchen – which includes a bar – is made from weather-resistant Corten steel, similar to the brand’s other home and garden products.

Why is it remarkable?

Beautifully set up for alfresco cooking and cocktail serving, this outdoor kitchen is equipped with an electric grill, gas or charcoal grill and wooden cutting board to meet your cooking needs. A kitchen is not complete without its washing area – the Convivium Mobile Bar is equipped with a stainless steel sink that has folding taps, so that the ultimate appeal and distinctive appearance of the design is maintained.

What we like

  • You have the option of choosing different Convivium Mobile Bar units – you can choose from two sizes – the entire kitchen and bar layout or just the kitchen area with the steel sink

What we don’t like

  • Extremely bulky and space-consuming design
