Oscars 2023: The complete list of winners

Audiences and attendees were treated to an onslaught of jokes Sunday night as comedian Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 95th annual Academy Awards.

Kimmel revealed ahead of the Oscars, held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, that he was going to address the infamous 2022 incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock.

He followed through on his promise, joking at the opening: “If anyone in this theater commits an act of violence at any point in the show, you will be awarded the Oscar for Best Actor and you will be allowed to give a 19-minute speech. .”

As for the winners on Sunday, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” dominated the awards show, picking up wins in seven of the 11 categories it was nominated for, including Best Picture and Best Director. In a historic moment, the film’s star Michelle Yeoh became the first Asian woman to win Best Actress.

“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibility,” Yeoh said in her acceptance speech. “This is proof that dreams do come true. And ladies, don’t let anyone tell you that you’re ever past your prime. Never give up.”
