Jimmy Kimmel, Everything Everywhere and a Donkey: Highlights of Oscars 2023
Everything Everywhere Simultaneously has dominated the 95th Academy Awards, held Sunday night at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
Michelle Yeoh took home the award for Best Actress, becoming the first Asian woman and only the second woman of color to win the trophy. The film also won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for writer/directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.
Brendan Fraser cemented his comeback with the Best Actor award The whalewhile Everything Everywhere Lead actors Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan took home the award for Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.
Other winners included Women talking Best Adapted Screenplay,The whale for the best makeup and hairstyle and Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio for best animated film. The night was not without controversy, with criticism aimed at Jimmy Kimmel’s interview with Malala and a poignant encounter between model Ashley Graham and a “despicable” Hugh Grant.
There were plenty of bold looks on the ‘champagne’ carpet this year, including Rihanna who appeared in a t-shirt, trainers and a hat.

One of ABC’s red carpet hosts had a moment to forget with Kate Hudson ahead of the 2023 Oscars.
Hudson stars in the Oscar-nominated film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mysterybut she was not nominated for her acting.
However, one of the interviewers appeared to have forgotten this as he interviewed the star on the ‘champagne’ carpet as the stars arrived at the awards show.

Jimmy Kimmel mocks public reaction to Will Smith’s Oscar slap
If you were wondering how the now infamous incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock could be handled at this year’s Oscars, your questions have been answered.
Jimmy Kimmel appeared to call out the Academy and the audience’s response to Smith slapping Rock during the comedian’s opening monologue for the 2023 Oscars.
The host referenced the controversial moment that saw Smith punch comedian Chris Rock on stage after he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
At the end of his opening monologue, Kimmel said, “We want you to feel safe — and, more importantly, we want my to feel safe, so we have strict policies: if anyone in this theater commits an act of violence at any point, you will be awarded the Oscar for Best Actor and you will be allowed to give a 19-minute speech.”
