Mortal Kombat 12 releases in 2023. The latest iteration of the classic fighting game from NetherRealm Studios will bring even more no-holds-barred action and bloody violence to our screens.
Mortal Kombat 12 was just recently announced via a Warner Brothers earnings call, so we don’t have many concrete details about the fighting game yet.
Like its predecessors, Mortal Kombat 12 it’s likely to be a 2D fighting game, filled with an extensive roster of returning characters such as Scorpion, Sub Zero, and Lui Kang. If Mortal Kombat 11 is anything but, we’ll likely find ourselves in an over-the-top story mode filled with delicious lore. Mortal Kombat 11 it also introduced a character customization system that allowed players to customize their fighters with new skins, equipment, and moves. We are likely to see an expansion of this system Mortal Kombat 12.
Although we had no official word on which consoles Mortal Kombat 12 will be available for, it seems likely that the game will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. Given the fact that Mortal Kombat 11 also came to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, there is a possibility that the title will be released for these consoles as well. However, there are no guarantees at this stage.

Mortal Kombat 12 Trailer

Mortal Kombat 12 game
No specific details about Mortal Kombat 12we I don’t know yet how NetherRealm will change the series. However, this is what we would like to see.
Whether or not you use a controller or one of the best fight sticks, Mortal Kombat 11 it had some solid fundamentals. However, the battles in Mortal Kombat 11 it was slower paced than previous games, emphasizing more methodical gameplay at the expense of fast-paced gameplay. Mortal Kombat 11 he also got rid of running, which, in the opinion of our content editor and Mortal Kombat veteran Aleksha McLoughlin, was something of a mistake.
Mortal Kombat as a franchise is known for its fatality, brutality and extreme action violence. While Mortal Kombat X had a particularly dull tone, things were a bit more confusing Mortal Kombat 11 which was a little brighter aesthetically and more colorful. It’s arguable that there was even any influence from NetherRealm’s DC Comics fighter series, InJustice, with the tonal shift.
We would like to see Mortal Kombat 12 return to the faster style of play that the series was originally known for. While we don’t know if NetherRealm will go in this direction, we here at TechRadar Gaming are keeping our fingers crossed.
Mortal Kombat 12 story and setting
Given how the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion ends, with series lead and Earthrealm defender Lui Kang ascending to godhood in Thunder God Raiden’s place, things are wide open for Mortal Kombat 12. With Kronika defeated, the sands of time were wiped away and the new age stopped in its tracks, meaning we could see anything from a full-scale reboot to a continuation of the previous trilogy.
If the three animated films that achieved its release Mortal Kombat 11 is anything else, it’s likely that many of the characters and ideas of the predecessor will make it into Mortal Kombat 12. The series has experimented with Elseworld stories for some time, as well as a live-action film in 2021, which retained some of the franchise’s core roster from the 2D and 3D eras.
It would make a lot of sense for NetherRealm to port the expansions made with Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11 in Mortal Kombat 12. In particular, the new characters and revamped settings, including the Kombat kids and Outworld. That’s because this trilogy gave us the offspring of fan favorite characters Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Kenshi and Jax with Cassie Cage, Takeda and Jackie Briggs respectively.
At the end of it Mortal Kombat 11Extending his story, Liu Kang goes back in time and meets the Great Kung Lao, one of the fiercest warriors Earthrealm has ever known. If Mortal Kombat 12 picks up where the trilogy left off, that means we’ll see the ongoing battle against the emerging powers of Outworld and Earthrealm. Whether they will return to roots or continue remains to be seen.
