MJF, Bryan Danielson delivers hot promotions ahead of his title match at AEW Revolution

Revolution will be the first All Elite Wrestling (AEW) pay-per-view of the season for the company, and it’s set to be awkward with the AEW World Championship on the line in a match between Maxwell Jacob-Friedman (MJF) and Bryan Danielson in a 60 minute ironman race.

MJF is the reigning champion coming into the match after defeating Jon Moxley at Full Gear in November with the help of former AEW star William Regal. Two weeks later, MJF would betray Regal when he hit him with brass knuckles and urged Danielson to face him.

It would spark an intense feud between two of the top competitors in AEW. Danielson had to beat Konosuke Takeshita, Bandido, Brian Cage, Timothy Thatcher, and Rush before winning the title and he did just that. Over the next few weeks, MJF and Danielson would cut some serious promos, taking personal and heated shots at each other while on the mic.

On Wednesday’s “AEW Dynamite,” Danielson was in the ring to talk when MJF came out to seemingly interrupt him. Danielson appeared to have had enough, and when the agitator came out, “American Dragon” told him to “Snap!” He remembered MJF saying that he hated Danielson because he had a loving family and the fans loved him. He added that MJF took the low road to become AEW World Champion.

“If you deserve anything, it’s your fiancee leaving you,” Danielson said to cheers from the crowd.

Danielson said he was ready to fight and has battled everything from depression to head injuries to get where he needed to be.

“Before I came here, I had a job that would have paid me for the rest of my life, but I left and came to AEW because I wanted to wrestle,” he said. “When I talk about fighting for your dreams, you know what my new dream has been since I’ve been here? It’s to become the AEW World Champion. And I’m damn willing to fight for it.

“This Sunday at the Revolution you better be ready to fight for everything you’ve got for a full 60 minutes and if you don’t – you’re going to get your head in.”

Danielson’s promo on Wednesday followed MJF’s epic and personal riff last week.

MJF slayed and talked about his broken engagement last year and what drives him to stay champion.

“He left me because I’m not lovable and now the only thing I have in this life that I can trust, the only thing that I have in this world that makes me feel unconditional love is this triple B. The World Heavyweight Championship AEW heavyweights are the only thing stopping me from grabbing a fistful of pills and calling it a day,” he said.

MJF talked about his distaste for Danielson because of the fans’ love for him and the happy family he helped build. It led to a skirmish and fueled their feud even more.

Their ironman bout is likely to be the main event on the Revolution card for Sunday. The event will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, starting at 8 p.m. ET. The show can be purchased through Bleacher Report and fans could watch the card in select theaters.
