Adapted by Israeli-American author Leigh Bardugo Shadow and bone novel for young adults, the eight-episode series tells the story of Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), a young orphan who grows up in Ravka and discovers that she is a Grisha, meaning one with special abilities.
