A father is going undercover on Reddit because he said he’s no longer making car payments for his daughter now that he found out she works as a stripper.
The Reddit post has so far garnered more than 20,000 reactions and over 6,000 comments.
A man with the username “LivingwitHorse” shared on the subreddit known as AITA (“Am I the a—–“) the story of the family drama — and asked others for their thoughts on the case.

He said he is a 47-year-old man who has a “22-year-old daughter.”
He said he is in college and lives there on campus.
A father on Reddit said he recently learned his little girl grew up to be a stripper — and as a result, he will no longer be making car payments on her behalf because of her career choice. More than 20,000 people reacted to his post and over 6,000 comments poured in. (iStock)
“I agreed to help her make car payments since she was in school,” she wrote — but recently learned from “a young man” she works with that his daughter “is stripping at a club about 40 minutes away.”

The man, who did not share his location, also wrote: “I confronted her about it and she said she wasn’t planning on doing it… and [that] he needed some money.”
“I asked her to stop stripping and get a decent job.”
The man said he told his daughter he would rather “work at McDonald’s”, than earn money by “using” her body.
He continued, “We had an argument and I asked her to stop stripping and get a decent job then.”
But he “refused,” the father wrote, “and said stripping was easy money.”

So, “basically,” the man added, “I said I didn’t need to pay her car payment” anymore “since she makes money so easily.”
He continued, “She got upset and said this wasn’t fair and she’s not doing enough about it. I told her to understand.”
“She got upset and said that wasn’t fair.”
The man said, “He told my wife what happened and my wife is upset with her chosen job but says it’s unfair for me to stop supporting her so suddenly because of a fight.”
The father and husband also said: “I think it’s absolutely fair – it’s my money and it’s my decision when to cut it.”

Meanwhile, many people on Reddit shared their own opinions and comments.

One person was particularly angry with the “whistleblower” — not with any of the family members in this scenario.
“What kind of a—–e tells a woman’s parents that they saw their daughter undressing, like it’s his business?” one commenter said of the “whistleblower.”
The person continued, “Your gross fellow, who goes to strip clubs to pick up women but then tells them off, is the biggest [a—–e] in this topic.
“You left her to her own devices and she came up with a decent way to make money. You have no right to judge her.”
Said another person on the same topic, “Amazing that the dad wasn’t more concerned that his co-worker was watching his daughter strip.”
Another commenter was very angry with the father for no longer supporting his daughter — and in her opinion, the commenter had enough company.
He said the man was wrong to “add conditions” to his agreement with his daughter about car payments “after the fact”.

Wrote one commenter about a father-daughter standoff: “Your help paying her car payments wasn’t contingent on her having a certain job or staying away from a certain job, so moving the goalposts now is ridiculously”. (iStock)
This same commenter called out the dad for “embarrassing your daughter” and for “not being a man of your word.”
Another person on Reddit felt the dad was wrong to not fully support his daughter in college.
“You could have avoided this,” the commenter said directly to Dad, “if you had chosen to fully support her through college. But you left her to her own devices and figured out a decent way to make money. You have no right to judge her.” , the commenter added.
“It’s your money, sure. But it’s also your relationship with your daughter.”
Another person weighed in, writing: “You may not like it, but it is [stripping] it pays a lot better than McDonald’s for less hours, so she doesn’t have to run around ragged while trying to study, work and have a social life at the same time.”

The same commenter continued, “Unfortunately, the minimum wage has been stagnant for about two decades because of your seniors and older who insist it should stay low and that jobs like McDonald’s are entry-level jobs and should be paid with poverty wages”.
This person continued, “She’d have to work 3-5 times more hours at a much more physically demanding job to make the same money she’s making now. You’re asking her to step down.”

The same commenter also added, “Also, your help paying her car payments was not contingent on her having a particular job or staying away from a particular job, so moving the goalposts now is ridiculous.”
An additional commenter wrote, “So to get your daughter to stop stripping you stopped paying [for] her car and now she has to strip some more!”.
The person finished with: “Nice, man.”

Said another person to the dad, “It’s your money, sure. But it’s also your relationship with your daughter. Are you willing to sacrifice that to prevent her from ‘using her body’?”
Said another person, returning to a common theme among the many reactions, “You should have asked the guy you’re working with what he hoped to gain by telling you that.”
